Certifications and labels can be overwhelming and even deceiving. The natural label on products has become confusing. 66% of consumers wrongly think “natural” means something and it does not. Products advertised as natural can mean that all or maybe even just one or two ingredients are actually of natural origin. Many “natural” products can also contain synthetic ingredients that are potentially harmful. The United States currently has no federal organic standards for personal care products.
Organic products that have the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) seal are made with whole foods or plants and no artificial chemicals or pesticides and the product meets consistent, uniform standards by the Food & Drug Administration (FDA). All of our products are Certified Organic and they do cost a little more, however, the benefits outweigh the cost when it comes to looking for skin care products free of synthetic ingredients like parabens and phthalates that may contribute to serious health problems. There has been an increase of available organic skin care products in local grocery stores.
