When you think of sustainable beauty, what does it mean? Sustainability means meeting our own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Sustainable beauty is all our responsibility, we owe it to ourselves, the people we work with, and the world we live in.  Did you know the beauty industry generates up to 120 billion units of plastic packaging per year contributing to the loss of 18 million acres of forest annually?

Our idea of sustainable beauty finds its inspiration in the concept of symmetry between substance and shape. Our style is inspired by simplicity, harmony, and wellness. We create meaningful beauty because we want people to take care of themselves, the environment in which they live and work, and the things they love. Sustainable beauty brands do not use ingredients that are known to be toxic to our environment. Consumers have become more educated about the ingredients in the products they use and know to look for beauty brands with familiar certifications such as the USDA Certified Organic seal by the Oregon Tilth, the Certified Vegan seal by Vegan.org, and the Leaping Bunny certification by the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics to name a few.

In skin care, sustainability means using recycled packaging, eliminating the use of single-use plastics, carefully selecting non-toxic ingredients, ensuring product safety standards, and decreasing the carbon footprint from manufacturing to product delivery.

Sustainability for NAIWBE means consciously choosing to create products and services that meet our skin, beauty, and health needs, without harshly impacting the environment or health of consumers. We’ve been advocates of ethical and sustainable beauty since the start of my business. I always try to support brands that are striving to do the right thing. Living sustainably is a healthy lifestyle choice to make conscious decisions that have less of an impact on our planet.
