Wellness is defined as the quality or state of being healthy in body, mind and spirit. That’s why it is important to achieve this state of healthy well-being, you must make a conscious effort to get rid of toxic negative thoughts, incorporate a proper diet and establish a consistent exercise routine to achieve these benefits. It is a balance of your mental, physical, spiritual, and social being which allows us to be more creative in the things we do on a daily basis. A healthy lifestyle promotes a more peaceful existence. It is important to note that wellness is different for each person and requires different levels of preventative measures to maintain optimal health.
Wellness can be broken down into 5 specific areas:
Mental Wellness includes developing a healthy personal attitude towards a state of healthy lifestyle choices that may include the elimination of toxic negative thinking, maintaining a learning aptitude and performing mental exercises through reading and positive thought processes.
Physical Wellness is not just about physical fitness and looking good, but maintaining and sustaining a state of physical well-being through proper diet and consistent exercise to allow for a continuous state of well-being. Physical Wellness also minimizes attack of our immune systems associated with a lack of consistent exercise, proper diet and daily water intake. Failure to establish and maintain physical wellness allows our bodies to be constantly under attack and increases our chances of becoming sick and having health issues.
Spiritual Wellness is reaching for our spiritual core and progressively becoming aware of life’s purpose, developing our innate gifts and using our talents positively for the benefit of ourselves, our families and our communities.
Social Wellness is the creation and maintenance of healthy and positive relationships, contributions and involvement in our communities that facilitate a positive impact to our surroundings and environment.
Lifestyle is the evolution of mental, physical, and spiritual balance in our lives at home, work and other socially interactive environments.
